Weekly usage
How the weekly energy budget in each plan works, when it refills, and where to see what you have left.
Starter, Pro and Pro Max include a weekly energy budget for using GreenPT: chats, apps, agents, dictation and meeting transcripts. The budget is energy, measured in watt-hours (Wh), rather than a number of messages. A quick question to a small model uses a sliver of it; a long research run with the largest model uses more.

How your week works
Every reply counts what it used
Each reply in GreenPT counts the energy it used in the data centre towards your week. A reply you stop early reports no measurement, so its energy is estimated. Dictation and meeting transcripts count by the length of the audio: the same energy for every second of it.
The budget refills every 7 days
Your refill hour is the hour your current plan began: when you started your trial or subscribed, rounded down to the whole hour. The budget refills in full every 7 days from then. A trial that turns into a paid plan, and a renewal, keep the same refill hour. Unused energy does not roll over to the next week.
When you change plan mid-week
When you move up a plan mid-week, you get the full budget of your new plan straight away. Your week starts again from the hour you upgraded, and that becomes your new refill hour. A downgrade or cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period and starts a new week then.
When the budget is used up
Chats, apps and agents pause until the next refill. Dictation and meeting transcription keep working; the summaries and other AI features around them pause. Move up a plan to carry on straight away. A plan you hold through your organisation is managed by your organisation.
API keys are separate
Calls made with an API key are paid from credits and never count towards the weekly energy budget.
See what you have left
Open your account from the avatar in the sidebar and choose Usage. The page shows:
- Your plan and its weekly energy budget.
- This week: energy used, emissions, and when the budget refills. The meter turns to a warning once you have used 80% of your budget.
- The last 12 weeks: energy used each week, against the budget you have now.
- Resets: the next refill, every past refill, and any time GreenPT support reset your usage for a week.
Launch gift
To mark the launch of weekly budgets, Starter, Pro and Pro Max each get one extra week's worth of energy for free: the full weekly budget of your plan, added on top of the week you claim it in. It is offered from 29 October 2026 until the end of your fourth budget week from that date. Claim it under Extra energy on the Usage page; the page shows the date it is available until. You can claim it once.
